  1. Raw materials and production process

  Bearing steel sand:

Raw materials: bearing steel (scraps from forged bearing punching).

Production process: bearing steel is crushed after heat treatment and then screened. There is no smelting process in the manufacturing process, no casting defects, and it is an energy-saving and pollution-free product.

  Ordinary sand:

Raw materials: natural sand or artificially crushed stone.

Production process: mostly formed naturally or processed by simple crushing, screening and other processes.

  2. Physical and chemical properties

  Bearing steel sand:

High hardness, good wear resistance, good edges and angles, and uniform particle size.

Contains metal elements such as carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and chromium, among which chromium can enhance fatigue life and wear resistance.

The surface roughness can reach 25~100um, which increases the contact surface of the metal surface and improves the surface adhesion of the coating.

  Ordinary sand:

Physical properties such as hardness and wear resistance vary depending on the raw materials, but are usually lower than bearing steel sand.

Mainly composed of silicate minerals, containing a small amount of metal elements.

The particle shape and particle size distribution vary depending on the processing method.

  3. Uses and application scenarios

  Bearing steel sand:

Special steel sand for cutting granite, faster sawing speed and smoother board surface.

Shot blasting or sandblasting on the surface of steel is better, especially suitable for high-hardness forgings, thin plates, strip steel, chains, gears, heat treatment and casting sand cleaning.

Remove the oxide scale and burrs on the surface of steel faster and cleaner.

  Ordinary sand:

One of the main raw materials for building concrete and mortar, used to fill the gaps between stones and increase the density of concrete.

Used for masonry walls, plastering, etc., to bond bricks and provide a flat surface.

As a proppant in oil extraction, it props up rock cracks and increases the extraction rate of oil and natural gas.

  4. Price and durability

  Bearing steel sand:

Due to the particularity of raw materials and production processes, the price of bearing steel sand is usually higher than that of ordinary sand.

Strong durability, can be used repeatedly for several times in a row, and has a long life.

  Ordinary sand:

Relatively low price and easy to obtain.

Durability varies depending on the raw material and processing method, but is generally lower than bearing steel sand.
