  Production technology of steel shot

A high quality steel block is melted, and the molten steel is formed into a fine particle by high-pressure water injection. The resulting pellets are reheated to purify and homogenize, and then quenched. The quenched pellets are dried and reheated in the furnace to achieve the applicable hardness. The tempered pellets are sorted through a mechanical screen into SAE grade products for use in shot peening equipment.

The excellent heat treatment control process gives the best elasticity and fatigue resistance of the steel shot. Different size and hardness of the steel shot are suitable for different processes.

  Production technology of steel sand

The raw material of steel sand is not the same as that of steel shot. It is mainly scrap material of high carbon steel or alloy steel. The waste steel material after heating and quenching is put into the crusher for crushing, and the semi-finished steel sand is obtained. Then the steel sand semi-finished products are screened and classified, that is, finished steel sand is produced. The waste steel material after heating and quenching can also be put into the crusher for crushing, and the semi-finished steel sand can be obtained and then the semi-finished steel sand can be screened and classified, that is, the finished steel sand can be produced.

The raw materials and production process of steel shot and steel sand are different, which also determines the difference between them and the use environment. The steel shot side is of better quality than the steel sand and has better durability. At the time of use can be based on the difference between the two to make a choice.

Appropriate hardness If the steel shot or steel sand is too soft, it will slow down the cleaning speed and reduce the work efficiency. During shot peening, steel shots that are too soft cannot produce suitable residual stress, and the force of low-hardness shots cannot be compensated by increasing the impact time.

The hardness of conventional steel shot is generally HRC40-50 (if the customer has no special requirements, this hardness range can fully meet the requirements)

Steel shot is made of high-quality steel scraps, which are first melted and then sprayed with high-pressure water to form the molten steel into small balls. The resulting shot is heated again to purify and homogenize it, and then quenched.
