The formation process of steel shot

　　Steel shot is made of high-quality steel scraps, which are first melted and then sprayed with high-pressure water to form the molten steel into small balls. The resulting shot is heated again to purify and homogenize it, and then quenched. The quenched pellets are dried in the furnace and reheated and tempered to achieve the appropriate hardness. The tempered steel pellets are sorted through a mechanical screen into 11 grades that comply with SAE specifications for use in shot blasting equipment. .

　　Products with different particle sizes and hardness are used in different processes, such as surface strengthening, etc.

　　1. Steel shot is widely used for descaling and rust removal of steel workpieces before painting. In this case, centrifugal shot blasting equipment is often used. The spherical shape and small hardness prevent the steel shot from causing great wear and tear on the equipment.

　　2. Steel shot is also widely used in the foundry industry. After the workpiece is taken out of the mold, steel shot is used to remove sand from the surface of the workpiece. When used with the right equipment, steel shot is definitely your best abrasive for surface cleaning because of its durability.

　　3. Industrial application scope: aviation industry, automotive industry, sandblasting/painting dealers, consumer goods manufacturing, container manufacturing/refinishing, foundry, granite/stone cutting and shipbuilding and ship repair, brokerage, oil and gas pipelines, factory maintenance and metal processing. Adapted process scope: surface pretreatment before spraying; casting sand cleaning; pipeline descaling, etc.

　　When the outlet pressure is the same, the nozzle shape is the same, the nozzle size is the same, and the abrasive size is the same, the power of cut and angular media is higher than that of round media. However, if there are mostly sharp-shaped abrasives or the abrasives have irregular shapes, the frictional resistance between the abrasives will increase, which will instead reduce the ejection speed of the abrasives and the kinetic energy of a single abrasive, resulting in a decrease in sandblasting power. Therefore, when used on site, sharp abrasives and spherical abrasives are often mixed and used together. The spherical abrasives act like lubricants, ensuring the kinetic energy of single abrasives.
