  1. The influence of alloy steel shot on the surface roughness of the material is usually in the range of Ra0.6~20mm. Without changing the process parameters, the higher the original surface roughness of the material, the greater the Ra value after shot peening. Production practice has proved that, under normal circumstances, the surface roughness before peening is below 6.3mm, and shot peening can improve or maintain the original surface roughness. If the original surface roughness is above 6.3mm, the surface roughness after shot peening will be reduced.

  2. Alloy steel shots of different specifications have different hardness, but products of different hardness have different cleaning effects on workpieces. The greater the hardness, the greater the brittleness. When cleaning the workpiece, although the cleaning efficiency is greatly improved, the consumption of steel shots will also increase, and the service life of steel shots will also be shortened. Therefore, from the perspective of economic benefits, for general workpieces, we recommend choosing steel shots with moderate hardness for rust removal.

  

  3. The treatment effect of the workpiece is not only related to the hardness of the alloy steel shot, but also to its model and shape. For example, the rust removal efficiency of products with irregular surfaces is higher than that of round products, but the surface is relatively rough. Therefore, when consumers choose steel shots for rust removal, they must start from the model, hardness, specifications and shape of the steel shots according to their actual needs.

  

  4. The reinforced shot peening of the product will cause plastic deformation of the sprayed surface of the parts, causing the surface roughness of the parts to change. Surface roughness is a microscopic geometric shape error, also known as microscopic unevenness. Surface roughness, like surface waviness and shape error, belongs to the geometric shape error of the parts. Surface roughness has an important influence on the performance of machine parts.
