Model selection of steel shot

According to Owen’s experience with steel shot Xiaoou, aluminum shot or stainless steel shot or non-metallic abrasive is generally used for non-ferrous metals according to the conditions of the workpiece; common steel welding parts, castings, steel materials, etc. are selected Steel shot; the larger the particle size of the steel shot (steel shot diameter), the higher the surface roughness of the workpiece after cleaning, that is, the larger the surface pit of the workpiece; then the cleaning efficiency of irregular-shaped steel grit or steel wire cutting shot is higher than that of spherical shot. It is higher, but the surface roughness is also high, and the equipment loss is large; the projectile with high cleaning efficiency also wears the equipment faster (relatively);

The hardness is proportional to the cleaning speed, but inversely proportional to the life. Therefore, the hardness is high and the cleaning speed is fast, but the service life is short and the consumption is large, so the hardness should be moderate (about HRC40-51 is appropriate) and the use effect is better. 2. Moderate hardness and excellent resilience, so that the steel shot can reach every place in the cleaning room and reduce the processing time. 3. Internal defects of the projectile, such as porosity cracks, internal shrinkage holes, etc., can affect its life and increase consumption. 4. If the density is greater than 7.3g/cm³, the internal defects should be minimized.
