Characteristics of steel grit: moderate hardness, strong toughness, impact resistance, can be used repeatedly for several times in a row, long life, good rebound, strong adhesion, fast cleaning speed, low sand consumption, no breakage, high brightness of the cleaned workpiece, and good technical effect.

Shape: angular gray-brown or light blue granular, specification range: 0.2mm-4.0mm.

Raw materials: scrap iron + iron alloy, composition: carbon 0.85-1.20%, silicon ≥0.40%, manganese 0.60-1.20%, sulfur ≤0.05%, phosphorus ≤0.050%, the remaining main components are iron,

Purpose: Used for sand cleaning, rust removal, oxide scale surface cleaning, etc.

Processing technology: The raw materials are melted into a liquid state through an electric furnace. After special treatment such as atomization, the product is shaped into a sphere. It is then dried, dusted, and screened. After screening, the spheres with a diameter of over 2.0 mm are professionally ground into mixed types of various particle sizes through crushing equipment. The angular steel grit is then screened to produce steel grit products of various specifications, followed by heat treatment, finally drying, screening and packaging.

Appropriate hardness If the steel shot or steel sand is too soft, it will slow down the cleaning speed and reduce the work efficiency. During shot peening, steel shots that are too soft cannot produce suitable residual stress, and the force of low-hardness shots cannot be compensated by increasing the impact time.
Summary of hardness of several common steel shot and steel grit Summary of hardness of several common steel shot and steel grit

The hardness of conventional steel shot is generally HRC40-50 (if the customer has no special requirements, this hardness range can fully meet the requirements)

Steel shot is made of high-quality steel scraps, which are first melted and then sprayed with high-pressure water to form the molten steel into small balls. The resulting shot is heated again to purify and homogenize it, and then quenched.
