  Shot blasting is also the name of a mechanical surface treatment process. Similar processes include sand blasting and shot blasting. Shot blasting is a cold treatment process, which is divided into shot blasting cleaning and shot blasting strengthening. Shot blasting cleaning, as the name implies, is to remove surface oxide and other impurities to improve the appearance quality. Shot blasting strengthening uses the flow of high-speed moving projectiles (60-110m/s). The continuous impact of the strengthened workpiece surface forces the target surface and surface layer (0.10-0.85mm) to undergo the following changes during the cyclic deformation process: 1. The microstructure structure is modified; 2. The non-uniform plastic deformation of the outer layer introduces residues Compressive stress, the inner surface layer produces residual tensile stress; 3. The outer surface roughness changes (RaRz). Impact: It can improve the fatigue fracture resistance of materials/parts, prevent fatigue failure, plastic deformation and brittle fracture, and improve fatigue life.

  Shot blasting refers to mechanically projecting pellets (steel pellets) onto the work surface at a high speed and a certain angle, allowing the pellets to impact the work surface at high speed, under the combined action of the vacuum negative pressure and rebound force of the supporting vacuum cleaner. The pellets circulate by themselves inside the equipment. At the same time, through the air cleaning effect of the matching vacuum cleaner, the pellets and cleaned impurities are recovered separately, and the pellets can continue to be recycled. The machine is equipped with a dust collector to achieve dust-free and pollution-free construction, which not only improves efficiency but also protects the environment. When the machine is operating, by selecting the particle size and shape of the pellets, adjusting and controlling the walking speed of the equipment, and controlling the projection flow of the pellets, different projection intensities are obtained and different surface treatment effects are obtained.

  Technical requirements for shot blasting process

  During the operation of the shot blasting machine, by controlling and selecting the particle size and shape of the shot materials, and adjusting and setting the walking speed of the machine, the shot blast flow rate is controlled to obtain different projectile intensities and different surface treatment effects. The shot blasting process and shot blasting equipment control the surface condition after treatment through three parameters according to the different surfaces that need to be treated. Select the size and shape of the pellets; the walking speed of the equipment; and the flow rate of the pellets. The above three parameters cooperate with each other to obtain different treatment effects and ensure the ideal roughness of the surface after shot blasting. For example: using S330 steel shot with a flow rate of 10A to treat C50 concrete surface, the roughness can reach 90; when treating asphalt surface, the oily layer can be removed and the roughness can reach 80; when treating steel plates, the cleanliness standard of SA3 can be reached.

  Common shot blasting materials include steel shot, aluminum shot, ceramic powder, steel sand, walnut sand, corn cob, glass beads, resin sand, plastic sand, etc.
