What are the characteristics of different steel shots?

　　The influence of alloy steel shot on surface morphology and performance is mainly manifested in changing the surface hardness, surface roughness, stress corrosion resistance and fatigue life of parts.

　　The material surface of the part undergoes cyclic plastic deformation under the impact of the steel shot bundle. Depending on the nature and state of the material, the surface of the material after shot peening will undergo the following changes: changes in hardness, changes in organizational structure, phase transitions, formation of residual stress fields on the surface, changes in surface roughness​.

　　The shot peening hardness of cast iron is HRC58~65, which is very brittle and is mainly used in places where shot peening strength is required.

　　4. Glass particles

　　The hardness of glass pellets is lower than the first two pellets, and it is mainly used in stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, magnesium and other occasions where iron contamination is not allowed. It can also be used for the second treatment after steel shot blasting to remove iron contamination and reduce the roughness of the part surface.
