How to choose the steel shot for shot blasting machine

Customers with shot blasting machine want to find the right steel shot, choose good quality steel shot can not only improve the service life of the shot blasting machine and its vulnerable parts but also improve the surface quality of the product, generally speaking, choose the type and size of steel shot mainly depends on the workpiece you want to clean up:
Non-ferrous metal generally choose aluminum or stainless steel shot; Ordinary steel and its welding parts, castings, steel and so on use steel shot;
The larger the diameter of the steel shot, the higher the surface roughness, but the higher the cleaning efficiency;
The cleaning efficiency of irregularly shaped steel sand or steel wire shot is higher than that of spherical shot, but the surface roughness is also higher.
The projectile with high cleaning efficiency will wear out the equipment faster (relatively), just in terms of time of use, but this wear is not as fast as the production efficiency.
a) The hardness is proportional to the cleaning speed, but inversely proportional to the life. Therefore, the hardness is high, the cleaning speed is fast, but the life is short and the consumption is large, so the hard should be moderate (about HRC40-50 is appropriate) the best use effect.
b) Moderate hardness, excellent resilience, so that the steel shot can reach every place in the cleaning room, reduce the processing time.
c) The internal defects of the projectile material, such as stomatal cracking and shrinkage holes, can affect its life and increase consumption.
d) When the density is greater than 7.4g/cc, the internal defects tend to be minimal.
